A product made from iron ore concentrate and fluxed in order to maintain target basicity.
The physical properties and chemical composition of iron ore pellets make them ideally suited for blast furnace production.
Fluxed iron ore pellets made from concentrate with Fe content over 69.5% can be used in direct reduction iron processes, with or without subsequent briquetting.

Transportation requirements | All types of transport modes can transport pellets, as long as it is in accordance with the transportation requirements for each specific mode of transport. Pellets can be transported in bulk, in conditions safe from contamination and mixing with other materials, as well as in conditions that avoid cargo spillage.
Storage requirements | Fluxed pellets should be stored in conditions safe from contamination and mixing with other materials. Fluxed pellets can be stored both in open and closed warehouses. Shelf life is unlimited. To prevent contamination, it is recommended to store pellets in separate warehouses. Do not place acid containers near pellet storage facilities. | Should be stored in conditions safe from contamination and mixing with other materials.
Notes | — |
According to the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes Code (IMSBC), pellets are classified as a hazard-free cargo. Any pellet loading-unloading should ensure minimal destruction. Permissible drop height is 1.5m or less. |
